World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades can be used to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade you choose, it can increase an item's Rarity or Mark Level and boost additional stats.
The process of upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests and each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a specific amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's base stats increases as it is upgraded. This is the sum of all the upgraded benefits (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrading items can be expensive, depending on the upgrader and the kind of upgrade you decide to perform. This is due to the variety of perks that need to be modified to upgrade an item.
It is also used as a gating requirement when queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It can also be used to determine a gating condition when queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is capped at an lower level). Players can view their average level of item on their character sheet.
When deciding whether to buy or sell gear, players can compare the levels of the item. It's a sign of the item's damage and quality. Comparing items in the inventory of a seller can be done using the item's level.
On your PC, you can check the level of the item using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including the ilvl. It is also accessible by hovering over an item with the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel in chat.
There are many theories about how the level of an item is calculated. One theory says that the level of an item is calculated by formulas that determine how valuable the stats of an item really are. It takes into account the fact that various perks have different value and that gems in sockets add to the overall value of the item. This can result in a calculated item's ilvl that is usually very close to Blizzard's real item level.
This isn't the only factor that affects the ilvl of an item. The degree of the area in which the item was dropped may change its stats. For example, it could increase the item's haste, or crit rating. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have a higher ilvl.
Item Stats
Item stats are a big component of what makes or breaks an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and prevent one weapon from being "the best." The base stats on a weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat modification, which are themselves boosted by the player's level.
Upgrades to an item may increase its stats. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. An item that is white or grey for instance, can only be upgraded one time, while an item with rare tiers may be upgraded multiple times at more expensive costs.
Affixes are a different method to alter the stats of an item. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can be used to give the item additional damage, or add a unique capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or decreasing the cooldowns) or make the item unique by giving an additional name to the item.
Currently, all affixes can be changed by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button with the arrows that circle. This will cost a certain amount in gold and other items. These can be used as upgrade gauges as with other methods of rerolling.
In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may select which of the available stats they want to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However each item will include at least one stat within the range, unless they are an item that is unique or a God Roll from a raid boss.
This is another thing that could be altered by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes or deciding which stats to boost. Like the base equipment, this would have to be done per item and the interface for item comparison wouldn't display all possible stats at once.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player increases the probability of obtaining items and the properties that are created by loot and the intensity of these properties. However, it does not directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with the chance to upgrade their gear earlier in the game. This is particularly advantageous in the early game, because players tend to put the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains.
Luck can also increase the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance that increases with each level and can be further increased by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
Weapons, armor, and shields can be created or spawned with the Luck property, with an initial value of 40. These items can be enhanced by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the type of material) to increase the value of 40 luck or to boost the Luck of an item up to 140.
Additionally some items, such as the Hollow weapon that is infused with hollow, can be equipped to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by five percent. item upgrade can be purchased in the shop or created using the right ingredients.

Item Failure
Not all upgrades work. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to boost their chances of success or even prevent them from losing an item if the upgrade fails.
The success rate of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations on how much success rates can be increased, and the overall chance of an upgrade failing can't exceed 100%.
The success of an upgrade is also affected by the luck of the item. Each item has an initial success rate of 25%, and every item that has Luck increases the chance of success by an additional five percent.
The upgrade overlays of the item are displayed above items in the inventory. This can obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
