WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades can give you boosts in certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random extra substat is also added to every upgrade.
The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as important for those with lower requirements due to the need to roll the perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. However, the item used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.
You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each few weeks.
Upgrades will cost more depending on the item level, however, they are always cheaper than purchasing new equipment. For example upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item from a different player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used for weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from item upgraders NPCs for a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be used on any weapon or tool using an button, which displays a preview of the item at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.
The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers, for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount, it can be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currency types.
Upgraders for items are available in many places on the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and the possibility of getting the latest recipe. The discount for upgrades increases according to the number of items that are being upgraded. It can also be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead, the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades must be acquired through several methods, which is both an improvement and a drawback.
In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a certain level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading other items to that level will cost less even if they belong to a different gear set.

The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is cut also, but is only available when certain milestones are achieved.
Crests
Players have several options for upgrading their equipment in WoW. They can use Flightstones, which are a general upgrade currency available to all players, or crests, which are more specialized and consumed during upgrades on specific item levels. Crests are an integral element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. view site… come in four ranks.
First, you should know that Crests are only available to equipment that is that is of a particular rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The simplest and easiest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade can require up to 20 crests, depending on the kind of gear being upgraded.
Players can obtain crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, which involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, raids or dungeons of any difficulty for higher-tier items or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader for the item such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and pathways.
The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it will bring some changes to the upgrade process. When a piece reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change is designed to allow players to get their gear up to the highest level possible for all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.
Another significant modification is that crests have one usage, so it's important to use them wisely. For instance it's best to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests with the best equipment available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning on making. This is especially applicable to items like rings and trinkets that occupy several slots. The discount on the account is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
